Lynn Farrell is the Photo Editor at The Gazette newspaper in Montreal, Quebec. Originally from Toronto, Lynn has spent the last 20 years photographing or assigning and editing photos for four newspapers including The Financial Post, The Globe and Mail and the National Post. A graduate of Ryerson's Photo Arts program, The Rwanda Initiative has allowed Lynn to pursue what has become a priority for her in journalism: to help provide the tools, know-how and guidance necessary for new photographers to develop their own "visual voice" so that they may better tell their own stories.
Lynn is a founding member of the Canadian Foundation for Documentary Photography, a soon-to-be up and running bursary for photojournalists in Canada. She is also on the advisory board of Loyalist's Photojournalism program in Belleville, Ontario.
Away from the newsroom frey, Lynn heads to the quiet of seaside village in Nova Scotia to decompress as often as possible.
